Revisiting a Classic Route,Led by an experienced high-mountain guide, this journey begins at Alishan National Forest Recreation Area and follows the dormant Alishan Mianyue Line Forest Railway, passing through Tashan, Mianyue, and Shihou Stations. Along the way, hikers will be immersed in the pristine beauty of untouched forests.
The trail ascends to Songshan (2,551m above sea level), leading to Mianyue Sacred Tree, Taiwan’s fourth-largest sacred tree. From there, the route descends along a ridge to Shuiyang Forest, a breathtakingly picturesque wetland surrounded by natural beauty.
The journey then continues via the Yashanping Trail, eventually reaching the Shanlinxi Forest Ecological Park. This alternative vertical Alishan-Xitou route offers spectacular landscapes, including forests, ancient trees, railway remnants, and cloud-covered vistas.
